What to Expect After LASIK
When your LASIK eye surgery is completed, you will need someone to drive you home where you should rest with your eyes closed for a few hours. Follow your eye surgeon’s instructions closely as to when you should use any prescribed or OTC eye drops, any activity restrictions, etc. You should take care to not rub your eyes, stare at a computer screen for too long or get anything in your eyes, even soap and water.
Your eyesight may be fuzzy and you may experience some mild to moderate discomfort, redness, itching or swelling for a few days. This should resolve in less than a week. If you experience more than mild discomfort or have any other disturbing symptoms, call your surgeon immediately for instructions on what to do.
Schedule your follow-up appointments for check-ups per your LASIK surgeon’s instructions. In a week or so, you should notice clear vision with no pain or discomfort. Enjoy seeing clearly without the hassle of contact lenses or glasses. You will forget that you ever suffered from being nearsighted/myopic.
