Strabismus (Cross-Eyed) Surgery
Strabismus is a condition where the eye deviates when looking at an object. There are two types of this disorder, intermittent strabismus, which only had the eye deviating some of the time and constant strabismus, which is when the disorder occurs all the time. Not to be confused with the condition called amblyopia, which is also commonly called “lazy eye”.
You want to have strabismus treated immediately, because the longer someone has it, the better chances of the effects being permanent or damaging to the eye. The surgery itself consists of an ophthalmologist making a small incision into the eye with the aim of repositioning eye muscles. The surgery is generally an easy, safe one.
